Exhibition Design and Installation Services for The Workhouse Museum, County Donegal

The Donegal Famine Heritage Centre CLG, trading as 'The Workhouse', is seeking a qualified service provider to design, manufacture, and install a complete modern museum exhibition at their site in Dunfanaghy, County Donegal. Funded through Failte Ireland's Coast-to-Coast Capital Investment Scheme, this project will transform The Workhouse into a year-round destination on the Wild Atlantic Way. Key responsibilities include: developing final interpretive and spatial design for five distinct visitor zones with universal accessibility; creating a detailed scale model of the original building as a central interpretive feature; producing fully bilingual (English/Irish) printed and digital displays compliant with the Official Languages (Amendment) Act 2021; delivering a four-language audio tour via devices and smartphone access; procuring and installing all multimedia, audio-visual systems, and an interactive Digital Archive Explorer kiosk; managing site preparation including demolition of legacy fixtures; constructing internal partitions; completing all electrical and decorative works; installing humidity control and energy-efficient heating systems compliant with EU Regulation 2024/1103; and ensuring ambient climate monitoring in the reception area. All work must be completed, tested, and handed over by 30 March 2027. This is a comprehensive end-to-end project for experienced museum exhibition specialists.
