Exhibition Design, Manufacture and Fit-Out Services for The Workhouse Museum, Dunfanaghy, County Donegal, Ireland

The Donegal Famine Heritage Centre CLG (trading as 'The Workhouse') in Dunfanaghy, County Donegal, Ireland is seeking a qualified service provider to design, manufacture, and install a modern museum exhibition. Funded by Failte Ireland through the Coast-to-Coast Capital Investment Scheme, this project will transform the site into a premier year-round destination on the Wild Atlantic Way. Key Responsibilities: - Develop final interpretive and spatial design for five distinct exhibition zones with universal accessibility, including creative wall layouts and a detailed scale model of the original Workhouse building - Manage all exhibition content and language, delivering fully bilingual (English/Irish) printed and digital displays, plus a professionally recorded four-language audio tour for both proprietary devices and web-based smartphone access - Procure, program, install, and commission all multimedia, audio-visual elements, and an interactive Digital Archive Explorer kiosk - Execute complete site preparation including demolition of legacy fixtures, internal partition wall construction, electrical and decorative trades, and installation of climate monitoring displays - Supply and install an active humidity control solution (without external stone wall penetration) and a modern, energy-efficient heating system compliant with EU Regulation 2024/1103 All work must be completed, validated, and handed over by 30 March 2027. This is a comprehensive project requiring expertise in museum design, fabrication, technology integration, and construction management.
