XC is seeking a supplier to provide a range of ambient ready meals and snacks for its first-class rail service. The supplier must deliver: (1) Starter/tapas-style snacks requiring no refrigeration or heating, with minimum 2-month shelf life in self-contained ambient packaging; (2) Main course meals that are microwave-ready for on-board preparation, requiring minimal handling and presented in branded serving packaging with minimum 2-month ambient shelf life; (3) Vegetarian and vegan options for both snacks and meals in compliant packaging; (4) All food packaging (customizable) and sustainable catering consumables including eco-friendly cutlery, printed napkins, and recyclable items. All products must comply with UK food safety laws and regulations. The supplier will manage delivery to five UK railway stations: Birmingham New Street, Bristol Temple Meads, Edinburgh Waverley, Plymouth, and Reading. The agreement includes flexibility to review and update product specifications to reflect seasonal menu changes (Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter) and emerging market trends. Prospective suppliers should demonstrate capability in food safety compliance, sustainable packaging solutions, and multi-location logistics.
