    Brief

The GMH | Gebäudemanagement Hamburg GmbH is a municipal company responsible for the construction, operation, and management of over 50 public schools in southern Hamburg (Wilhelmsburg and Harburg), as well as buildings for higher education and municipal purposes. This project involves the construction of a two-story new building with an area of approximately 1950 square meters at the primary school site on Ernst-Bergeest-Weg. The building will include a cafeteria, a single-field sports hall, and a movement room with associated ancillary rooms. The cafeteria is designed to accommodate 672 diners in three shifts of 224 people each, functioning as a vital kitchen with multifunctional use, thus classifying it as an assembly venue. Deliveries will be made from the north via the existing access to the basement, with direct elevator access to the kitchen area. The basement will be constructed of reinforced concrete and masonry, while the upper floor will feature a lighter structure combining solid building elements and timber frame construction, which will also be reflected in the facades. The upper floor will be built on a brick base with a ventilated wooden facade. The roofs of the cafeteria and sports hall will be constructed as wooden truss roofs with a warm roof build-up, featuring a green roof and a photovoltaic system. The roof of the movement room will be a reinforced concrete structure with a warm roof build-up, including skylights for lighting and ventilation. The electrical installation will include a central technical room housing the main power distribution, emergency lighting system, data cabinet, low-voltage distribution, and junction box E30, including delivery and installation. Emergency lighting will comply with DIN VDE 0108 with a central battery in a fire protection housing, LED emergency exit lights in continuous operation, and three-phase voltage monitoring in sub-distributions. The main distribution board (GHV) will supply sub-distributions, HVAC-ISP, and large TGA devices; three sub-distributions are planned, including for the kitchen and cafeteria, with circuit protection, surge protection types 1/2 and 2, residual current protection, and a minimum protection class of IP43 with 30% reserve capacity. Wiring will be NYCWY in conduits from NSHV, with final circuits using halogen-free NHXMH-J; installation will be via cable trays, riser routes, and skirting channels, with separation of strong and weak current through a separating wall and fire protection measures for penetrations. Installation devices will have labeling fields, vandal-proof designs in the sports hall and wet areas, and protection classes depending on the area (e.g., IP54 for outdoor areas), with emergency stop switches in the kitchen/dishwashing area. Lighting systems will comply with DIN 5035, 12464, AMEV with LED and electronic ballasts, VDE tested, with lighting levels depending on room type (e.g., sports hall 300–750 lx, kitchen 500 lx), and light control via presence detectors, switches, and light control panels. External lightning protection will comply with DIN EN 62305 Class III with a capture line network, capture points, aluminum HVI down conductors, integration of all roof structures and parapets, and grounding systems as an interface to the shell construction. Wall penetrations and fire protection measures for cable and conduit systems are also considered. The external facilities will be developed via an earth trench with conduits and cable pulling shafts for future retrofitting.
