Security Consultant for National Gallery New Wing Development

The National Gallery, located on Trafalgar Square in London, is seeking an experienced Security Consultant to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive security strategy for a new building extension. This is a complex project requiring integration with the existing Gallery estate within a sensitive urban, cultural and heritage environment. Key responsibilities include: • Developing and coordinating the overall security strategy covering protective security, hostile vehicle mitigation, blast resilience, access control, visitor management, and operational security • Advising on integration of security measures between the new development and existing buildings • Liaising with Westminster City Council, Metropolitan Police Service, National Protective Security Authority and other stakeholders • Coordinating with architects, engineers, planners and other disciplines to ensure security is embedded in design • Supporting the project from design phase through construction, handover and operations • Addressing heritage conservation and operational environment considerations You should have proven experience delivering security consultancy for comparable large-scale, complex projects in the UK, particularly involving cultural institutions, operational environments and heritage-sensitive sites. This is a long-term engagement requiring involvement across multiple project phases.
