Flood Risk Management Works - Bontnewydd

This flood alleviation scheme will deliver comprehensive flood risk management infrastructure across Bontnewydd to protect residential properties, local infrastructure, and community access routes. The works will take place at multiple locations along the Afon Beuno and Afon Gwyrfai rivers and include: construction of reinforced concrete flood defence walls, earth flood bunds, strengthening and replacement of existing flood defence structures, partial demolition of obstructive stone walls, drainage system modifications, access improvements, reinstatement works, and environmental mitigation measures. The project aims to enhance the village's long-term resilience to flooding. Expected construction duration is approximately nine months. This scheme presents opportunities for contractors, engineers, environmental specialists, and suppliers involved in flood defence infrastructure, demolition services, drainage works, and environmental restoration.
