Digital Wayfinding Platform for Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Centre

This procurement seeks a single supplier to design, develop, and deliver a compliant, accessible digital wayfinding platform for the new Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Centre for Eye Health at St Pancras. The platform must enable patients, visitors, staff, and students to navigate the building independently and confidently through five key deliverable areas: search, routing, and map display; user interface and access channels; accessibility and inclusive navigation; smart services integration and data; and operational adoption and governance. Essential features include interactive digital building maps, destination search functionality, point-to-point routing, multi-floor navigation, step-free routing options, mobile and web access without requiring app downloads, and QR-code access points throughout the building. The solution must integrate with the Patient Self-Service Check-In kiosk to generate post-check-in routes and work with Indoor Location Services (RTLS) infrastructure where available, while functioning fully without RTLS on day one. Given the high proportion of visually impaired patients served by Moorfields, accessibility is a core requirement, including audio navigation and step-free routing validated with visually impaired users before launch. The contract runs for an initial two-year term with two optional one-year extensions. This is a Competitive Flexible Procedure under the Procurement Act 2023, evaluated 60% quality, 10% social value, and 30% price.
