Supply of Aluminium Poles for Traffic Signals

The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council is looking to appoint a supplier to provide and deliver various sizes of aluminium poles specifically for traffic signal installations. The required pole sizes are 2.2 metres, 4.0 metres, and 6.0 metres. Each pole must meet specific minimum specifications, including being made of anodised aluminium with non-removable underground protection to prevent corrosion, such as a polymer dipped coating (removable protection like tape is not acceptable). The terminal board inside the pole should be made of durable material to ensure it lasts as long as the pole. The poles must be finished in black aluminium, both above and below ground. Each pole should include a removable anodised aluminium vented cap that fits inside the top, matching the pole's finish. The poles must have pre-drilled holes for fixings on all four sides, with suitable black weatherproof plastic grommets that can be removed during installation. All supplied poles must be CE marked, with no external stickers or labels. The earth lead should be approximately 600mm long and attached to a bolt inside the pole. Each pole must be individually wrapped to prevent scratches during transport, and the pole doors should be secured with a standard triangular bolt. Additionally, all poles must have passed a wind loading test for the required loads, and the triangular bolts should include an O-ring or circlip for secure attachment to the pole door.
