    Brief

    Longford County Council is seeking contractors for the Granard Active Travel Scheme, a comprehensive pedestrian and transportation infrastructure improvement project in Granard, Co. Longford, Ireland. The project encompasses: (1) Pedestrian infrastructure enhancements including approximately 250m of footpath widening along the R194, new ramped zebra crossing, junction tightening with ramped pedestrian crossings, and enhanced signage; (2) Construction of a new 130m road link connecting R194 to Barrack Lane, featuring a 6.5m carriageway, 3m adjacent path, new street lighting, ramped pedestrian crossings, foul and storm sewer networks, and derelict site fencing; (3) A new 110m footpath link along the western side of Barrack Lane connecting to the N55 junction. Work includes associated drainage installation, utilities, and safety infrastructure. This is an active travel scheme designed to improve pedestrian accessibility and connectivity within the town.
