Bridge Remediation and Construction Works – Longford County Council 2025

Longford County Council is seeking qualified contractors to rehabilitate and reconstruct 8 bridges across the county. The project includes work on diverse bridge types: one concrete slab bridge, one composite bridge, and six masonry arch bridges located on local roads throughout the county. Scope of Work: The remediation works encompass masonry reconstruction and repointing, parapet fencing integration, replacement of soft verges with concrete rubbing strips, vegetation removal, and riverbed debris clearance. Bridges Included: • Castlebaun Bridge (Masonry Stone Arch) • Drumlougher Bridge (Masonry Stone Arch) • Monascallaghan Bridge (Composite Bridge) • Cloonshannagh – Lechurragh Bridge (Masonry Stone Arch) • Esker Old Hall Bridge (Masonry Stone Arch) • Lissameen Lane Bridge (Concrete Slab) • Kilnacarrow Bridge (Masonry Arch Bridge) • Kiltycreevagh Cornacullew Bridge (Clapper) Geography: Six bridges are located in north to mid-Longford, with two bridges situated in the southern part of the county. Interested contractors should have experience in bridge rehabilitation, masonry work, and structural restoration.
