Digital Wayfinding Service for Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Centre for Eye Health

Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL are seeking a single supplier to design and deliver an accessible digital wayfinding platform for their new St Pancras location. The platform must enable patients, visitors, staff, and students to navigate the building independently using interactive digital maps, destination search, point-to-point routing, and multi-floor navigation. Key requirements include mobile-web access without requiring app downloads, QR-code access points throughout the building, and integration with the Patient Self-Service Check-In kiosk for route generation after check-in. The solution must support both Indoor Location Services (RTLS) integration where available and full functionality without RTLS on day one. Given Moorfields' high proportion of visually impaired patients, accessibility is essential, including audio navigation and step-free routing validated with visually impaired users before launch. The contract runs for an initial two years with two optional one-year extensions, procured under the Competitive Flexible Procedure (Procurement Act 2023). Evaluation criteria: 60% quality, 10% social value, 30% price. Award based on most advantageous tender.
