    Brief

The Birmingham Safeguarding Children Partnership (BSCP) is commissioning a training provider to deliver a comprehensive multi-agency safeguarding programme for professionals and volunteers working with children and families across Birmingham. This supports BSCP's statutory responsibility to ensure organisations collaborate effectively to safeguard children's welfare. BSCP is the statutory safeguarding partnership for Birmingham, comprising Birmingham City Council, Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care Board, and West Midlands Police. The successful provider will deliver and manage over 50 courses and webinars annually, covering child protection fundamentals, specialist topics (child exploitation, domestic abuse, FGM awareness, safeguarding disabled children), and emerging priorities (mental health awareness, online safety, radicalisation prevention, trauma-informed practice). Training must reflect current legislation, statutory guidance, and local priorities; incorporate learning from Serious Case Reviews and audits; promote multi-agency collaboration; and be accessible to statutory agencies, voluntary sector organisations, and faith groups. The provider must deliver training in both virtual and face-to-face formats using interactive, discussion-based learning approaches. Robust evaluation mechanisms and attendance/impact reporting are required. Key responsibilities include sourcing and managing qualified trainers, maintaining training quality and relevance in a changing environment, and supporting continuous improvement across Birmingham's safeguarding workforce.
