Construction Work for Electrical System Renovation at Bonn University Hospital

The Bonn University Hospital is planning fire protection and functional upgrades for Building 22 / OPZ. This project involves renovating the electrical supply due to existing fire safety deficiencies. As part of the fire protection renovation of the entire Operational Center, the anesthesia department, including the pain clinic, will be restructured and cleared of all electrical and fire safety issues. The main distribution systems for electrical supply and IT infrastructure were recently replaced and are free of defects; however, various deficiencies still exist in the affected departments that will be addressed during the renovation. The previous supply of the anesthesia department through two sub-distributors will be redesigned as part of this project, and the electrical installation will be comprehensively revised due to changes in the shape and use of some rooms. The main conduits crossing the fire section will be sealed in compliance with regulations upon completion. The offices facing the windows will receive new base channels, while the inner rooms will be supplied through existing connections and additional new connections in lightweight walls. Most of the lighting will remain; only in the rooms receiving new ceilings will new lighting be installed. The goal is to operate the department in a defect-free, fire-safe manner, adapted to the changed usage needs. The expected start date for the electrical systems in the ground floor is February 2026. Services for the electrical systems will be commissioned through an open European tender.
