Payment Initiation Services for Bank Transfers

NS&I seeks a supplier to provide Payment Initiation Services enabling customers to pay NS&I securely via bank transfer using Open Banking technology. The solution must include APIs that seamlessly integrate with NS&I's mobile app and future website, allowing customers to transition to their own bank and back for payment confirmation. The API should pre-populate sort code, account number, account name, payment amount, and payment reference to reduce customer errors and improve ease of use. This service addresses three key customer priorities: security, ease, and confidence, while reducing NS&I's payment processing costs compared to debit card alternatives. The contract may be extended to include additional services such as Account Information (fraud, identity, income verification, affordability, and risk identification services), Transaction/Fund Tracing and Monitoring, and Confirmation of Payee functionality. This opportunity is available through Further Competition under the Government Commercial Agency Open Banking (Data, Digital Payments & Confirmation of Payee Services) DPS RM6301, with an optional 12-month extension period included.
