    Brief

Surrey County Council (SCC) is seeking to establish a high-quality Appropriate Adult Service to support children, young people, and vulnerable adults in Surrey who are suspected of a criminal offense. This service is mandated by the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) 1984 and the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, ensuring that these individuals' rights are protected during the criminal justice process. The Appropriate Adult will act as a safeguard, ensuring fair treatment and effective participation for those who cannot have their parents or guardians present. To better understand the market and gather insights from potential suppliers, SCC is issuing a Request For Information (RFI). This RFI aims to assess suppliers' capabilities and interest in providing the Surrey Appropriate Adult Volunteering Service (SAAVS). Interested suppliers are encouraged to respond before the deadline on October 30, 2025.
