Network Technology Renovation at Bonn University Hospital

The Bonn University Hospital is planning fire protection and functional upgrades for Building 22 / OPZ. This includes renovating the power supply due to fire safety deficiencies. The first construction phase involves renewing the low-voltage main distribution (NSHV) in the 3rd basement level. Preparatory work includes demolition tasks such as cutting a new door element, demolishing wall sections, and modifying raised floor structures. The 3rd basement is located approximately 10 meters below the access areas, and there is no direct access. As part of the electrical renovation in the operating room area, the ceiling supply units (DVE) in the operating rooms will also be replaced. The new DVE requires more network connections than the existing ones, necessitating the retrofitting of some network connections. The installation of cables will primarily take place through the suspended ceiling, which is partially developed as a separate floor (1st basement). The construction project will be executed in two phases, with strict adherence to the specified timelines. Connections will be made to existing or newly installed network cabinets. The anticipated start for the network technology work in the basement is scheduled for April 2026. The work will be carried out in two phases: the first phase from April 2026 to February 2027, and the second phase from March to December 2027. An open European tender will be issued for the network technology services.
