Brief

The BMWE Market Development Program aims to facilitate the entry of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), self-employed individuals in the commercial sector, as well as specialized freelancers and business-related service providers operating in Germany into new markets and lead to further successes in export activities. The objective of this project is to support companies in participating in United Nations (UN) tenders. On one hand, decision-makers will be informed about the capabilities of the German industry in general and the participating companies in particular, contributing to the dissemination of industry-specific information. On the other hand, German companies will be informed about business opportunities and the UN procurement process, and motivated to register with the UN Global Marketplace (UNGM). During a three to four-day trip, decision-makers from various UN organizations will learn about the technologies and know-how of German providers. This includes guided visits to industry-specific trade fairs. Representatives of the UN will visit the booths of selected German companies and also have the opportunity for free visits to the fair. Another element includes varied and moderated industry-specific round tables/workshops to provide interested decision-makers with concrete industry-related information about the German market and the respective sector from experts and multipliers, as well as practical information on the UN procurement system (and possibly other international organizations). Additionally, site visits to reference projects can be included in the program upon agreement. The implementation of the project is subject to the requirements according to Annex 1_ABD and the guidelines.
