Highway Construction Project: D0 Interchange Třebonice Capacity Expansion

This public procurement contract involves construction work to expand the capacity of the Třebonice interchange, including necessary interventions on highways D0 and D5. The project focuses on the two busiest branches of the interchange in both directions (D1 to D5 and vice versa). The affected sections of highways D0 and D5 will be designed to accommodate the capacity expansion without interfering with the construction of the D34 highway category (with a basic road width of 14.50m). Additionally, the project will include the addition of access and exit lanes in line with the modified branches of the interchange. The branches from Brno to Plzeň and back will be expanded by adding one traffic lane. The connections of both branches to the highways will be designed for a future state with 3 continuous and 1 access lane on D0 and D5, although the horizontal traffic markings at the completion of this project are expected to indicate 2 continuous and 2 access lanes. The turn from highway D5 to the Plzeň – Brno branch is proposed with 2 continuous and 2 exit lanes. The project also includes the demolition and complete reconstruction of the existing bridges (D5-001.1 and D5-001.2) to accommodate the expanded branches. The main goal is to create a bridge structure that will carry highway D5 in category D 34/130 with a configuration of 4+4 lanes over the intersecting road II/605 (Plzeňská street). Furthermore, the project includes repairs to a section of highway D5 between km 0.0 and -0.820, which will involve road and bridge repairs (X-027.1 and X-027.2) and complete reconstruction of bridges (X-028.1 and X-028.2). The project will also involve the removal of billboards that conflict with the construction, adjustments to the traffic management system at the split between the Plzeň – Brno and Plzeň – Airport branches, and modifications to the crossings on D5 and D0, including adjustments on road II/605 and reconstruction of existing five-span road bridges (X-027.1 and X-027.2).
