Construction of D6 Highway Section in Karlovy Vary

This public procurement contract involves the construction of a section of the D6 highway from Karlovy Vary to Olšová Vrata. The total length of the project is 8,020 meters, with the first third designated as a highway allowing speeds of 130 km/h, while the remaining two-thirds will be a divided first-class road with speeds of 90 km/h, and 70 km/h within the municipality. The project includes the expansion of the existing first-class road number 6 (I/6) from Karlovy Vary (Drahovice, Pražský most) to Olšová Vrata into a four-lane divided road, which will connect to the new section of the D6 highway up to the municipality of Andělská Hora. The project also includes the reconstruction of interchanges, the relocation of roads, the construction of new bridges, noise barriers, and various technical infrastructure adjustments. The construction will start at the right bank of the Ohře River at the end of the Pražský bridge on the existing I/6 and will follow the current road alignment for approximately 4.5 km before transitioning to the D6 highway. The project is expected to enhance traffic flow and safety in the region.
