Excavation and Earthworks for Research Building Construction

This contract involves excavation and earthworks for the construction of the HAFUN research building at the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY) site. The construction area is located at the southern edge of the DESY campus, with the excavation site situated in the eastern section. The HAFUN building will measure approximately 48 meters by 74 meters and will consist of two to four underground levels and three above-ground levels. A fourth underground level (laboratory) is planned on the southeast side of the building. The scope of work includes: - Explosive ordnance detection through surface detection and exploratory drilling - Earthworks and specialized deep foundation work - Pile foundation work. Key tasks include: explosive ordnance detection over approximately 5,300 m² (detection depth of about 5 m) and exploratory drilling for grouted anchors (65 pieces, up to 15 m long), excavation and removal of approximately 52,000 m³ of soil, construction of anchored and braced excavation support (sheet pile and bored pile walls) with excavation depths ranging from 10.5 m to 18.0 m and a surface area of about 3,300 m², installation of multi-layered grouted anchors (1 to 4 layers), totaling 524 pieces (anchor lengths of approximately 12.5 m to 28.0 m), and deep foundation work using bored piles (diameter of 0.75 m), including 4 piles of approximately 14.0 m and 21 piles of approximately 24.5 m in length.
