Landscaping and Maintenance Services for Green Spaces in Karlsruhe

The City of Karlsruhe's Gardening Office is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of a total of 1,000 hectares of green and landscaped areas, with approximately 500 hectares maintained by service companies. A significant portion of the green spaces listed for maintenance is located along roads, pedestrian paths, and bike lanes. These areas are mowed three times a year to ensure traffic safety, while a few parks and green areas are mowed five times a year. The maintenance of green spaces also includes additional tasks such as weeding, hoeing ground cover, and clearing shrubs, technical installations, and paved areas, as well as leaf removal. The City of Karlsruhe places high standards on the use of low-emission and low-noise equipment, such as electric leaf blowers and battery-powered trimmers. The maintenance work will be contracted for a period of four years (2026 to 2029) and is divided into 26 different lots. This tender includes the remaining 15 lots. The scope of maintenance work and the number of maintenance categories vary across the individual lots.
