Germany – Automation Devices for Libraries – KA26001 Supply of Self-Checkout Terminals and Security Gates for the Karlsruhe City Library

The Karlsruhe City Library has a collection of approximately 300,000 media items and an annual loan rate of about 1,320,000 media items across the entire system. The library includes two centrally located libraries in the city center (the main library in the New Ständehaus and the Children's and Youth Library in the Prinz-Max-Palais), five branch libraries in the districts, and an American library with exclusively English-language media. Remote districts are served by a media bus. The Karlsruhe City Library already uses RFID technology at service counters across all locations. Additionally, self-checkout terminals for media loans are available system-wide, and at the main library in the New Ständehaus, an outdoor/indoor return system with 9-way sorting complements the offering. All locations are equipped with RFID security gates. The contract involves the supply of self-checkout terminals (SVB terminals) for media loans/returns and security gates for theft protection. The security gates have varying configurations depending on the location. All mentioned devices utilize RFID technology (operating frequency 13.56 MHz).
