Floor and Tile Work at Mendelstraße 6

SBH | Schulbau Hamburg, a state-owned enterprise of the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, is responsible for planning, constructing, maintaining, and managing school properties while considering educational needs and economic principles. This project involves a significant restructuring of the site at Mendelstraße, including the centralization of technical facilities. The new building will house administrative areas, a multifunctional kitchen for 300-600 students, a cafeteria, and specialized classrooms. The spacious cafeteria and community area with a stage will serve as a gathering place on the ground floor. The upper floor will feature two large compartments, connected by a central staircase with necessary corridors. Heating will be provided through district heating, and photovoltaic panels will be installed on the roof. The new construction will receive funding for climate-friendly building (KfN) and aims for DGNB Gold certification. The chosen structural system includes a wooden beam ceiling with Delta Beam, which facilitates construction time and allows for future repurposing and the use of sustainable materials. The exterior will feature a wooden facade, similar to the adjacent Hamburg classroom building. This contract specifically pertains to tile work.
