    Brief

The Department for Education (DfE) is looking for individuals who have a strong understanding of how to improve and maintain high standards of attendance and behaviour in schools. Candidates should be familiar with the school system and the national policies that affect it, and they must be able to build relationships and communicate effectively with education leaders across the country. The role of the Ambassadors is to lead initiatives that emphasize the importance of school attendance and behaviour, as well as the government's efforts in these areas. They will assist the DfE in creating effective national policies related to attendance and behaviour and will oversee the Government's Attendance and Behaviour Hubs programme. Ambassadors will help advance the DfE's attendance agenda by guiding schools on how to utilize their data effectively and by promoting best practices within schools and trusts. Additionally, they will contribute to the DfE's behaviour agenda, which focuses on fostering a sense of belonging and safety for both students and staff in schools. Ambassadors are expected to: - Serve as a credible advocate for government policies on attendance and behaviour, promoting an inclusive approach to mainstream education through engagement with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts. - Assist the DfE and Regional Improvement for Standards and Excellence (RISE) teams in developing the Attendance and Behaviour Hubs programme to support schools needing assistance with attendance and behaviour practices. - Help reduce disparities in school practices by supporting schools in meeting statutory expectations and effectively using their attendance data. - Promote a culture of belonging and safety in schools for all students and staff.
