Manchester Airport Rail Station Expansion - Civil Engineering Works

Manchester Airport requires civil engineering works to expand rail platform capacity and accommodate longer train services (144m trains). The project involves remodeling the airport station through platform additions, extensions, or new turnback facilities to enable two 6x24m trains to operate simultaneously while maintaining all existing train operator services. This infrastructure upgrade is part of the Manchester and North West Transformation Programme Tranche 1, designed to improve train service capacity and reliability across the Manchester area. The civil works scope includes: overhead line equipment (OLE) substructures and foundations, king post retaining walls, and ancillary civils such as trough routes, concrete foundations, utility installations, and signage. Suppliers should have expertise in railway infrastructure, structural design, and station remodeling projects.
