    Brief

Natural England's Natural Capital and Economics Teams are seeking support to quantify how nature recovery can help reduce selected risks identified in the National Risk Register 2025. Building on the 2024 State of Natural Capital Report, this project aims to translate environmental evidence into concrete, measurable impacts that policy-makers can understand and act upon. The work will demonstrate the potential of nature recovery to mitigate increases in likelihood and severity of nature-related risks, such as flooding, drought, and ecosystem collapse. This is a strategic opportunity to develop new methodologies for connecting natural capital improvements to mainstream risk management, supporting both immediate policy influence and future evidence work across government. Suppliers should have expertise in risk quantification, natural capital economics, and policy-relevant evidence synthesis.
