    Brief

Sport England is seeking an evaluation and learning partner to assess the This Girl Can Place Pilots, a series of test-and-learn projects running in five locations across England. These pilots combine a national campaign designed to motivate inactive women with local, place-based interventions developed collaboratively by community organisations and local partners. The core objective is to evaluate whether integrating national campaign-driven motivation with locally-led, community-focused activity opportunities creates meaningful benefits and tailored outcomes for women. The evaluation should examine how local organisations can use campaign insights to enhance activity opportunities, connect motivated women with accessible local activities, and support women to take action. Sport England requires a mixed-methods evaluation approach that addresses key evaluation questions and learning objectives while minimising burden on place partners and local organisations. The successful bidder will first undertake a scoping phase to develop a finalised evaluation plan, then conduct both process and impact evaluation. The evaluation should demonstrate learning from the pilots and provide evidence to inform future delivery approaches, exploring how national campaigns and local systemic working can reinforce each other to address community-specific barriers to physical activity.
