    Brief

The Museum seeks a qualified and experienced Principal Contractor with specialist façade expertise to design, engineer, procure, manufacture, install and complete the upgrade and replacement of the DC1 Glass Solar Wall on a Design and Build basis. The Contractor will provide all necessary resources, façade design input, management, supervision and coordination to deliver the works in accordance with the Contract and Employer's Requirements. The Darwin Centre Phase 1 (DC1) is a prominent building visible from Queens Gate in South Kensington. The solar wall, installed in 2002, requires replacement following the failure of three glass panels on the South-facing elevation. As secondary façade components typically have a 25-year service life, this upgrade will restore operational functionality to this section of the site and reintegrate it into full Museum use. Prospective contractors should have demonstrated experience in large-scale façade renovation projects, Design and Build delivery, solar wall systems, and working on heritage or institutional sites. This is a comprehensive contract requiring end-to-end project delivery from design through completion.
