    Brief

Bangor University and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board are partnering to deliver the North Wales Medical School, a Welsh Government-funded initiative to expand medical education capacity in North Wales. This project involves upgrading and refurbishing the Wrexham Medical Institute (WMI) to create enhanced medical training facilities. The scope of work includes: upgrading Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) infrastructure with new audio-visual equipment and software; refurbishing library spaces with new furniture; installing upgraded digital signage, branding, and wayfinding systems; and light refurbishment of teaching rooms with new or upgraded furniture. All works must be completed in a live hospital environment, requiring careful coordination with Estates and ICT teams regarding access and outages. All activities must comply with site rules, Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations, and NHS Wales/BCUHB technical standards. The completed facilities will provide modern, functional spaces to support high-quality medical education and training delivery.
