Brief

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM), on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, is seeking experienced bus operators to provide services under two small franchise contracts beginning in September 2027. Lot 1 covers the Bolton, Bury, and Farnworth area with an estimated peak vehicle requirement of 32 buses for Service 521. Lot 2 covers Leigh and Atherton with an estimated peak vehicle requirement of 22 buses for Service 553. Both services are scheduled to commence operations on 19 September 2027. This opportunity is part of Greater Manchester's bus franchising implementation strategy to improve regional public transport services. Interested operators should have relevant experience in bus service operations and fleet management.
