Design and Specification for Water Ring Main Replacement at Forest Drive, Tidworth

Aster is seeking a consultant to design and specify the replacement of an aging 1960s Alkathene water ring main serving the Forest Drive estate in Tidworth, SP9 7PB. The existing infrastructure, which has reached the end of its service life and become brittle, serves approximately 60+ residential units including blocks of flats and privately owned houses. The ring main system currently requires isolation valves (installed 2009) and monitoring devices to manage leakage rates of 700-900 liters per hour. Aster has been managing and maintaining the system at its own cost and acts as the utility supplier to all residents, with Veolia as the water provider. The project aims to improve system reliability and support adoption of the infrastructure by the water authority. Successful consultants should have experience in water distribution network design, pipe replacement specifications, and liaison with water companies. The design must address isolation, metering, and pressure management for a ring configuration serving mixed residential properties.
