Skateboard Park Remodelling and Construction

Higham Ferrers Town Council is seeking a contractor to remodel a skateboard park located at Saffron Road Recreation Ground, Higham Ferrers, NN10 8EF. The project involves expanding the concrete landing area by 1 metre and constructing a banked plateau (1m length) with a graduated slope to ground level. The budget is £24,000 (excluding VAT). Contractors must supply all materials, complete construction, and manage the work to recommissioning. The tender should include a detailed cost breakdown by element: excavation and disposal, sub-base import and compaction, dowel fixing to existing concrete, shuttering and mesh installation, concrete laying and sealing, soil import and spreading, and finishing (with two options: bonded green mulch or grass matting with seeding). Contractors must provide measurements or diagrams showing plateau dimensions and slope gradients, ensuring the slope ends at least 2 metres from the football pitch and maintains a path near the Scheduled Ancient Monument. Equipment hire, mobilisation, site setup, fencing, signage, and welfare facilities are also required. Site access is available via Vine Hill Drive and the sports pavilion car park, where space can be allocated for skips and materials storage.
