Integrated Architect, Engineering and Cost Consultant Team for Lymington Sea Water Baths Restoration

Lymington and Pennington Town Council invites applications from an integrated team of architects, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, mechanical and electrical engineers, and quantity surveyors to deliver Phase 1 of the Lymington Sea Water Baths Restoration Project, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. The appointed team will lead all technical surveys, investigations, and design development required to assess the feasibility of restoring this nationally significant historic coastal leisure facility. Key responsibilities include conducting structural condition surveys, geotechnical investigations, mechanical and electrical assessments, environmental and sustainability evaluations, and developing coordinated RIBA Stage 0 to Stage 2 design proposals. The team must also prepare cost plans, lifecycle assessments, accessibility strategies, and supporting materials for consultation and funding purposes. The baths face significant challenges including structural deterioration, marine saltwater exposure, historic settlement, ageing infrastructure, and accessibility limitations. The appointed team will work collaboratively with the Council, Project Manager, Heritage Consultant, and other specialists to ensure all design decisions are informed by heritage significance, technical findings, community engagement, operational requirements, costs, and climate resilience principles. Contract value: up to £120,000 excluding VAT.
