Integrated Ticketing and Revenue Protection System for Onboard and Station Environments

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) is conducting pre-market engagement to identify suppliers capable of delivering a comprehensive ticketing and revenue protection solution for both onboard and station operations. The solution should encompass: • Onboard mobile ticketing and revenue protection software enabling Train Managers and Revenue Protection Officers to validate eTickets, issue tickets, process offline payments, and manage revenue protection workflows • Station ticketing systems including fixed ticketing positions and mobile ticketing capabilities for Travel Centres and station environments • Frontline hardware including handheld devices, scanners, payment terminals, printers, charging equipment, and docking stations with full lifecycle management support • System integration connecting onboard equipment, ticket scan data, and revenue protection applications to support Unpaid Fare Notices, Travel Irregularity Notices, reporting, audit trails and exception management • Integrated payment processing supporting secure online and offline transactions, reconciliation, refunds, dispute resolution and commission handling • Full implementation, transition, support and maintenance services including service desk, incident management, device management, software updates, cybersecurity, reporting and continuous improvement This engagement aims to assess market capability, delivery models, potential contract lots, dependencies, risks, commercial models and innovation opportunities to inform the procurement strategy. Note: The Electronic Ticket Validation Database, Enterprise Reservation Systems and Hitachi onboard train-light software development are excluded from this engagement.
