Professional Services for Bradford Street Temporary Accommodation Development

The Council is seeking a multidisciplinary professional consultancy team to deliver comprehensive professional services for the development of a temporary accommodation facility on Bradford Street. The project aims to address increased demand for high-quality, accessible temporary housing by converting an existing building into six self-contained units comprising three wheelchair-accessible apartments (M4(3) standard), three one-bedroom apartments, staff offices, and meeting/interview facilities, plus cycle storage, refuse storage and associated external works. The successful consultant will be responsible for: reviewing and validating existing feasibility study work; undertaking necessary surveys and investigations including structural analysis, asbestos surveys, measured building surveys, topographical surveys, utilities and drainage investigations, and energy/environmental assessments; securing planning permission and statutory approvals; developing the design through all relevant RIBA stages; supporting the procurement of a construction contractor; and providing full contract administration and cost management services through to project completion. This role requires expertise across multiple disciplines to transform the building into modern, accessible temporary accommodation that reduces reliance on costly nightly paid housing options.
