Mechanical Street Sweeping Waste Processing and Recycling Contract

Bristol Waste Company, acting on behalf of Bristol City Council, is seeking qualified contractors to receive, process, and recycle mechanical street sweeping waste generated from routine and ad-hoc street cleaning activities across Bristol. The contractor will be responsible for processing all street sweeping waste collected from streets, parks, footpaths, and pedestrianized areas, including dewatering and the recovery or marketing of recyclable materials, with proper disposal of residual waste. Street sweeping waste composition varies seasonally, with autumn months containing higher organic content and high-traffic areas producing increased litter items. The contract has an initial 24-month term with options to extend for additional periods up to 24 months total. All water contained in street sweeping waste must be treated as contract waste and processed accordingly. Note: Material from gully drain emptyings is excluded from this contract. Interested suppliers should be capable of handling variable waste streams and implementing effective recycling and material recovery processes.
