Bulk Excavation for Sizewell C Nuclear Plant

This contract opportunity involves the bulk excavation of various materials, including made ground, alluvial deposits, and crag sand, from the Main Construction Area (MCA) for the Sizewell C nuclear plant. The excavated materials will be transported to designated stockpiles or disposal areas within the Temporary Construction Area (TCA). The work is essential for preparing the site for the foundations of the nuclear plant's Units 1 and 2. Key tasks include: - Excavating and loading materials into transport vehicles, typically 45-ton all-terrain dump trucks. - Assessing the suitability of excavated materials, including necessary testing. - Managing vehicles and equipment within the MCA to ensure efficient operations. - Transporting materials to storage or disposal locations using a dedicated heavy haul road. - Ensuring compliance with quality specifications through testing and management of stockpiles.
