    Brief

The UKAEA Safety Case Engineering Group is seeking support services to develop comprehensive Safety Cases for existing and future fusion research facilities at UKAEA and across the wider fusion research community. Safety Cases provide formal assurance that all major process hazards—both radiological and non-radiological—are properly identified and managed in compliance with applicable legislation. This is a 3-year call-off contract with an optional 1-year extension. Required support may cover all stages of Safety Case production, including: Hazard Identification and HAZOP facilitation, Consequence and Frequency Calculations, Design Basis Assessment, Probabilistic Safety Analysis, Human Factors evaluation, and ALARP (As Low As Reasonably Practicable) Arguments. While the primary focus is radiological hazard assessment, support is also needed for conventional process hazard evaluation. Suppliers should have expertise in safety engineering, fusion facility operations, and regulatory compliance with UKAEA licensed site standards.
