    Brief

Derby City Council is seeking suppliers to provide a support service for adult carers of individuals aged 18 and over in Derby. This service is essential for fulfilling our legal obligations to offer information and advice to carers. It plays a crucial role in the overall support process for adult social care and aims to proactively assist carers in reducing, delaying, and preventing the need for formal support for themselves and the individuals they care for in the future. Key objectives of the service include: - Identifying and encouraging self-identification of carers to ensure they access support early. - Building resilience among carers to help them remain effective in their roles for as long as possible. - Supporting the physical, mental, and emotional health of carers. - Taking a strengths-based approach to recognize what is important to each carer and the resources they have. - Understanding the support needs of carers and empowering them to access affordable and appropriate resources. - Ensuring that carers feel valued and heard, and assisting them in planning for potential changes in their circumstances. - Providing support for carers at various stages of their caring journey, including when they start, when their role intensifies, and when it changes or ends. - Enhancing carer inclusion and connectivity within local and wider communities. - Developing partnerships with key organizations to improve access for carers. - Meeting the Council's obligations under the Care Act to provide necessary information, advice, and assessments. - Efficiently allocating funds and resources to achieve the best outcomes at minimal cost. Suppliers interested in this opportunity must express their interest and obtain the necessary documentation by 11:30 PM on Sunday, October 12, 2025. It is advisable to do this well in advance to allow adequate time for bid preparation and submission. The deadline for submitting bids is 10:00 AM on Monday, October 13, 2025. Documentation can be found at www.eastmidstenders.org by searching for TD2271. Please note that expressions of interest will only be accepted through the e-tendering system. The total value of the contract, including VAT, is £1,592,436.
