The Office of Director of Institutional Burials (ODAIT) is seeking qualified professionals for a critical forensic archaeology project at the former Tuam Mother and Baby Home in County Galway, Ireland. This opportunity is divided into two lots: Lot 4 - Site Forensic Archaeologists and Archaeologists: Full-time positions for experienced archaeologists with extensive excavation backgrounds to lead on-site recovery operations. Successful candidates will work within a multidisciplinary team to carefully excavate human remains and associated evidence while adhering to the Institutional Burials Act 2022 and international forensic best practices. Lot 5 - Site Human Osteoarchaeologists and Forensic Anthropologists: Full-time positions for specialists in human skeletal analysis and forensic anthropology. These professionals will analyze, document, and process human remains recovered from the site as part of the broader excavation team. Both roles require collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, meticulous documentation, and commitment to ethical, respectful handling of sensitive human remains.
