Help Point System Replacement - Lot 1 (PSTN to IP Migration)

This project involves replacing Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) help points across 29 railway stations with modern IP-based systems before the PSTN network is decommissioned. The contractor will upgrade help points using one of three methods: (1) new IP-based help points connected to the Northern Wide Area Network using existing station broadband, (2) existing Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) retrofitted with help point technology, or (3) modern GSM units where IP installation is not feasible. All replacements will be completed on a like-for-like basis to enable rapid, maintenance-style upgrades without requiring design approvals or Network Rail consents. Stations requiring upgrades include: Althorpe, Ashton-under-Lyne, Brinnington, Bryn, Buckshaw Parkway, Crossflatts, Davenport, East Disbury, Gatley, Greenfield, Guide Bridge, Hadfield, Headingley, Heald Green, Levenshulme, Low Moor, Manchester Oxford Road, Marple, Mauldeth Road, Morpeth, Mossley, New Mills Central, New Pudsey, Reddish North, Romiley, Rose Hill, Swinton (Manchester), Thorne North, Westhoughton, and Woodhouse. This accelerated programme ensures completion before the PSTN switch-off deadline.
