Basement Waterproofing and Fit-Out Project

This project involves the refurbishment and waterproofing of existing sub-basement areas in a high-security, heritage-listed building. The goal is to create a fully waterproof, dry, and usable environment for long-term operations. Key details of the project include: - Careful removal and preparation of existing finishes to reveal the underlying structure. - Installation of a specialized cavity drain and damp proof membrane system for walls and floors, including necessary fixings, drainage channels, and connections to existing sump pits. - Cleaning and re-commissioning of sump pits, with the installation of new submersible sump pumps, float sensors, discharge pipework, and a control panel linked to the Building Management System (BMS). - Application of cementitious or resin-based tanking in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and relevant British Standards (e.g., BS 8102:2022). - Construction of new internal partitions, raised access flooring, ceilings, joinery, and decorations to restore the area after waterproofing. - Adjustments to existing building services affected by the work, including power, lighting, fire detection, and PAVA systems. - Coordination with the Landlord's Facilities Management team to ensure secure access and minimal disruption while adhering to Canada House site protocols.
