Funding Opportunity for Adult Skills Program 2025/2026

The Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council is inviting applications for funding to support the Adult Skills Programme. This opportunity is open to providers with a proven track record and, if applicable, an Ofsted rating of Good or Outstanding. The contract will cover the delivery of educational programs for learners from August 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, with all services to be completed by the latter date. The programs are aimed at adults aged over 19 who belong to one or more of the following groups: - Unemployed adults - Recently redundant adults - Adults with low or no qualifications - Adults with low skills or no skills who need a first step back into education - Adults with enduring mental health issues - Carers - Homeless adults or those in hostel accommodation - Adults with learning difficulties or disabilities - Adults from ethnic minority backgrounds - Male adults - Younger adults aged 19 to 24 - Older adults (typically 50+) who missed educational opportunities in their youth - Newcomers to Sandwell facing specific barriers and disadvantages Courses should have clear learning objectives that prepare adults for further education, work, or volunteering. They must be taught by qualified tutors with at least a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent, and should address local needs and the priorities outlined in Annex A of the attached specification. The council aims to commission a variety of providers to reach different learner groups across Sandwell, ensuring high levels of positive outcomes in further education and employment.
