    Brief

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is seeking a qualified contractor to replace the heating system in the Pharmacy Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital. The project involves removing three existing Remeha Gas 210 ECO boilers and installing three new Remeha Gas 210 Ace 120/4 sectional boilers in the Pharmacy Plantroom on the second floor. This is a complete turnkey mechanical and electrical installation including phased boiler removal and replacement, pipework modifications, Building Management System integration, electrical upgrades, testing, commissioning, and comprehensive documentation. The work must be completed in a live hospital environment with minimal disruption—at least two boilers must remain operational at all times to maintain continuous heating service. The contractor will serve as Principal Contractor under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, managing all project aspects including health and safety, site supervision, material logistics, waste disposal, and stakeholder coordination. Successful bidders must demonstrate experience working in healthcare environments, understanding of service resilience requirements, compliance with Health Technical Memoranda and gas safety regulations, and ability to manage access restrictions within an operational hospital.
