    Brief

This is a workforce development and community prevention initiative across the Humber region that aims to build violence prevention expertise and peer-led health improvement. The programme is delivered through three integrated components: (1) a Level 3 Award in Violence Prevention and Reduction for operational leads, (2) a Train the Trainer programme to build delivery capacity, and (3) delivery of a Level 2 Violence Prevention Youth Health Champions qualification for young people aged 16-25. All qualifications are RSPH-accredited and follow nationally recognised curricula. Operational leads complete the Level 3 training, then attend a one-day Train the Trainer session covering facilitation techniques, safeguarding, group dynamics, assessment and adaptation for different youth settings. Trained practitioners then deliver the Level 2 programme (12 guided learning hours) to young people, covering violence causes and drivers, risk and protective factors, public health prevention approaches, community resources, and peer-led health messaging. Participants complete the course by designing and presenting a violence prevention awareness campaign for their peers. The programme is flexible and responsive to participant needs while maintaining alignment with RSPH learning outcomes.
