Brief

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking to establish a Framework Agreement with suppliers to provide comprehensive electronics support for London Underground rail vehicles. This includes the design, development, supply, and servicing of all electronic components and assemblies used on the TfL Network, from printed circuit boards to integrated circuits and software systems. TfL is conducting early market engagement to understand supplier capabilities and delivery approaches. Interested suppliers should be prepared to provide services including: prototype development for obsolete system replacement, display units and human-machine interface components, design modifications, reverse engineering of legacy systems, repair and refurbishment, overhauling with test rig development, obsolescence management and lifecycle analysis, non-routine sourcing (including grey market options with counterfeit inspection), technical documentation, verification and validation testing, and quality assurance support. All work must comply with relevant Railway standards including EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility), environmental standards, shock and vibration testing, and IPC quality standards. Suppliers should demonstrate expertise in collaborative engineering, working closely with TfL teams and the London Underground Railway Engineering Works (REW) Electronics Workshop. A Market Sounding Questionnaire will provide detailed scope requirements.
