Direct Service Provider Framework Expansion - Phase 2

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is expanding its Direct Service Provider (DSP) Framework through a Phase 2 procurement to add qualified suppliers. The existing framework operates until 2029 with extension options. This expansion addresses capacity limitations and will supplement, not replace, current DSP arrangements. The framework covers gas mains and services replacement, reinforcement, diversionary and connection works for natural gas and hydrogen networks. Essential services include laying and relaying of PE and steel mains up to 48 inches diameter, installation of PE and steel services and risers, survey and enabling works, pressure connections and disconnections at various levels, backfill and reinstatement, and emergency support. Desirable capabilities include gas safety regulation cutoffs, bulk service renewals, live service insertion, specialist techniques such as flow stopping and deep excavations, fuel poverty project support, and district governor installation. All works must comply with Northern Gas Networks Technical Standards and procedures. Qualified suppliers should be prepared to support both planned and emergency operations across the network.
