Cryogenic System Partner for STEP Prototype Powerplant

This opportunity seeks a partner to design, develop, and integrate a comprehensive cryogenic system for the STEP Prototype Powerplant. The system comprises three main components: a large-scale cryogenic plant, an extensive cryogenic distribution network, and integration with multiple end-users across the programme. The system must deliver refrigeration at three temperature levels—approximately 80 K, 20 K, and 4.5 K—using helium, hydrogen, and nitrogen as cryogenic fluids. The total cooling capacity required is approximately 65 kWth at 4.5 K equivalent, with a combined refrigeration load of 520 kWth at 80 K, 170 kWth at 20 K, and 8 kWth at 4.5 K. Successful candidates should have expertise in large-scale cryogenic engineering, distribution system design, and multi-user integration within complex industrial environments.
