Community Food Growing Service Provider

Leicester City Council is seeking a qualified provider to deliver the Let's Get Growing Service, a community-focused programme that promotes food growing, environmental wellbeing, and social inclusion. The service will build on successful previous initiatives by offering workshops, training courses, and networking events to help local communities develop food growing skills and knowledge. Activities will span the complete growing cycle from seeds to harvesting and food sharing, with emphasis on ecotherapy benefits and access to green spaces. The programme aims to improve physical and mental health, increase social resilience, and strengthen community connections, particularly for those with limited access to nature-based activities. The contract runs for an initial 3-year term (1 April 2027 to 31 March 2030) with a potential 2-year extension (to 31 March 2032) based on performance. Estimated contract value: £300,000 (excluding VAT) or £360,000 (including VAT). Maximum contract term: 5 years.
