Peg Hill Skatepark Refurbishment - Design and Build Contract

Yate Town Council is seeking a contractor to design and build a comprehensive refurbishment of Peg Hill Skatepark with a budget of £450,000 (excluding VAT, inclusive of 10% contingency). The project must deliver a 25-year lifespan using sustainable, durable materials resistant to extreme weather and anti-social behaviour. Key requirements include: retaining and refurbishing the existing below-ground bowl feature; incorporating popular design features identified through public consultation; creating inclusive facilities for users of all abilities and disciplines (beginner to advanced, various wheel sizes, disability and neurodiversity access, and gender-inclusive features); providing weather protection and improved health and safety; minimising environmental impact through sustainable practices and local sourcing; and ensuring low maintenance and repair costs. Works must commence in Spring 2026 and complete by 30 September 2026. The refurbishment must remain within the current skatepark footprint and comply with planning and safety regulations. Suppliers should review the detailed design brief, public survey responses, and reference skatepark examples before submitting proposals. All design revisions required post-contract to meet planning or safety requirements will be the contractor's responsibility.
